Refurbishment of NZ Interisland Ferry "Arahura"

A refurbishment of the NZ Interisland Ferry "Arahura" was undertaken during a 28 day visit to the port of Hobart.   The complete refit of the ship included changes to the ship's layout, replacement of all furnishings and fittings in all public spaces, bathrooms, kitchen, children's play area, bar, cafe and picture theatre.  The lower deck which houses rail wagons and vehicles also received attention.   A consortium of Tasmanian skilled workers drawn from members of the Tasmanian Maritime Network assisted with the on-time completion of the project.
